LAKEVILLE,
IN (April 3-6, 2008) -- Hoosier-shod drivers in late model races across the
country had some spectacular results this past week. Terry Casey (photo), Scott
James, Mike Marlar, Kevin Claycomb, Billy Moyer and Earl Pearson, Jr. were big
winners on Hoosier tires during a four-day stretch in which the Hoosier brand
dominated late model racing.
THURSDAY (4/3)
Terry Casey used a 11.0/88.0-15 1300 (LR) and 29.0/11.0-15 1350 (RR)
drive tire combination to nab the win in the Lucas Oil Series 50-lapper at
Swainsboro (GA) Raceway on Thursday. Casey, who also set fast time of the night
on Hoosiers, is currently leading both the rookie-of-the-year and the overall
standings in the Lucas Oil Series. In fact, four of the top five atop the
current Lucas Oil Series standings use the Hoosier brand.
FRIDAY (4/4)
Scott James used Hoosier tires to win the 50-lap Lucas Oil race the following
evening at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia on Friday. James, using
a 11/.0/88.0-15 1100 (LR) and 29.0/11.0-15 1300 (RR)
rear drive combination, took the lead on lap 21 en route to the
win.
SATURDAY (4/5)
Mike Marlar won the $5000-to-win, unsanctioned race at Ponderosa (KY) Speedway
on Hoosier tires on Saturday.
In the Spring 50 at Florence (KY) Speedway, Kevin Claycomb took the win on
Hoosier tires. It was only Claycomb's third race coming out of a two-year
retirement.
In the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Billy Moyer won the $20,000
Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway on Hoosier tires. The Batesville, Arkansas
driver used Hoosier LM30 tires on all four corners to capture his tenth win in
his last 14 races. It was also Moyer's second straight WoOLMS triumph.
SUNDAY (4/6)
The spectacular weekend was capped off when Earl Pearson, Jr. made a last-lap
pass to win the $10,000 Lucas Oil race at the Golden Isles Speedway in
Brunswick, GA. Pearson used a quartet of Hoosier LM20's to capture the exciting
win.
Hoosier's Late Model Dirt Product Manager Shanon Rush commented after the
weekend of racing, "We have been very pleased with the early season
success with such a wide variety of compounds."
Rush added, "Our new C4000 left and right rears have been performing
well throughout the country."
