OH (May 16-18, 2014) -- This past weekend there was a "little" drag
race in Norwalk, OH which turned into a HUGE drag race with attendance over
20,000 fans for a NHRA Lucas Oil Divisional race.
race featured everything from a Jet powered Kenworth to 14-second stockers.
With rain and cold weather controlling most of the first three days of action,
it came down to trying to get the race completed in just one day.
at night with the lights shining on the 1/4 mile track the finals for Top
Alcohol Dragster and Funny car were contested. Top Alcohol Dragster would end
up with both Hoosier Tire shod cars taking the track. Marty Thacker would
succumb to oil pressure difficulty handing the victory to Brandon Booher. Both
dragsters race on Hoosier 18790C2055 rear tires.
Funny Car was settled between Chris Foster and Andy Bohl with Chris leading
wire to wire for the win. Again, both cars put rubber to asphalt using the
Hoosier 18790C2055 tire. That concluded racing for Sunday night.
would see the remaining classes get their chance to finish racing. When it was
all done Hoosier Tire had victories in; Top Sportsman (Jerry Albert), Top
Dragster (Marco Abruzzi), Super Comp ( Jack Sepanek), Super Stock (Zach
Running) and in Stock ( Steve Sullivan). Hoosier-shod drivers were also
runner-up in Top Sportsman, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Stock.
in all, it was a good weekend for Hoosier-shod cars in Norwalk.
